It is known as the "Archaeological Capital of Huila." The San Agustín Archaeological Park is one of the most important archaeological sites in Colombia and the world. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995. The Archaeological Park is part of the San Agustín Archaeological Corridor.
